What is your eligibility criteria?
Whether applying as an individual or via your Medical or Music school all eligibility criteria and restrictions can be found under the relevant area the Applying for Funding section.

Can I apply for funding after 31 March?
No, extensions cannot be given on the closing date and we do not accept or process applications between 1 April and 30 November.

I’m not a UK citizen, can I apply for funding?
No, the Foundation only accepts applications from UK citizens.

When can I apply to the foundation for a grant?
The Foundation accepts applications between 1 December and 31 March.

Can I send my application in by email?
No, we only accept applications via our online application process.

Where can I get an application form?
All individual applications should now be made via our online form which can be found on the Applying for Funding pages. If you are applying via one of the four pre-selected Medical or Music Schools please contact them directly as they have in-house shortlisting and then submit on behalf of their students. DO NOT apply independently your application will not be considered.

Who are the pre-selected Medical & Music Schools?
Medical Schools are: University of Liverpool, University College London, Peninsula School of Medicine & Dentistry and the University of Nottingham.
Music Schools are: Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Royal College of Music and the Purcell School.

Can I apply for funding for Music/Medical studies if I’m not from one of the above pre-selected institutions?
Yes of course, but you will need to apply via the individual bursary scheme.

Do I need to register on the site to send an application for funding?
No, you do not need to register. When you submit/save the site will email you a live link through which you will be able to access your application form until it’s submitted to the Foundation.

I've applied before and was unsuccessful, can I apply again?
Yes, you can apply to Foundation irrespective of whether you've applied before. Every year the application process starts afresh so in the case of those who were successful in the grant process one year they are by no means guaranteed repeat funding.

I am a grant recipient, when is my progress report due?
The Foundation will contact you in February by email attaching a progress report form. This should be completed and returned to the Foundation by email before 30 April.
